3rd & 4th Generation mobile networks

Definition of "3G"

3G, or Third Generation, is a somewhat generic term for network technologies that the ITU classifies as part of their IMT-2000 specification. Generally, wireless network technologies must be able to provide a mobile device with a downlink connection speed of 384kbps in order to be considered a 3G technology. The most used 3G technologies are WCDMA, CDMA 1xEV-DO, and, technically, EDGE and CDMA 1xRTT.

Definition of "4G"

4G is the term used to refer to the next wave of high-speed mobile technologies that will be used to replace current 3G networks. The two top contenders are LTE and WiMAX, both of which are IP based networks that are built from similar, yet incompatible, technologies. Sprint and Clearwire are currently offering 4G WiMAX service in the USA, while Verizon and AT&T have committed to the use of LTE and are trialing their own 4G networks

"A2DP"

Definition of "A2DP"

The Advanced Audio Distribution Profile is a Bluetooth profile that allows for the wireless transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source (typically a phone or computer) to an A2DP receiver (a set of Bluetooth headphones or stereo system). Such devices typically also support the AVRCP profile as well in order to allow for track selection and such. A common misconception is that A2DP support is available on all Bluetooth 2.0 devices, which is not the case, and that A2DP is only available on Bluetooth 2.0 devices, which is also not true. A2DP support can exist in older versions of Bluetooth, it just was not commonly supported.

Photo sharing Iphone apps

Color

According to its developers, Color creates new, dynamic social networks for your iPhone. Given the success of similar iPhone apps such as Instagram, this app has received a lot of media buzz including reviews in USA Today and Bloomberg Business Week.

The main innovation from Color is that it uses geolocation and to allow for immediate photo sharing of pictures between nearby iPhone users. This way, users can create creative (2 heads think better than one!) and immediate photo albums to share with friends.

Wink

Made by Shutterfly, Wink stands out from other iPhone photo apps in that the main point of the app is to share printed photostrips via mail. Wink allows you to create photostrips from pics available from your iPhone photo library, Flickr account, Facebook photo albums and Shutterfly account.

Wink allows you to create photostrips with 3 photos, 4-photos or 5 photos. You can send a printed photostrip anywhere in the world for $2.50.

Instagram

The rise in popularity of Instagram has been amazing. As of May 16, 2011, the official iTunes page reports that there over 3.75 million Instagram users around the world.

The fast rise of Instagram has been fueled by being an official tool by the National Public Radio (NPR) for photo distribution, a favorite iPhone app from Jack Dorsey (Twitter founder and Instagram investor) and Phil Schiller (Apple marketing guru), and a way to share photos by Korean pop stars and gangsta rappers such as Snoop Dogg.

Flickr

If the Shutterfly team was able to come up with an iPhone app, the Flickr team (acquired by Yahoo!) had to come up with one as well. According to the app developers at the official iTunes page of the Flickr iPhone app , the app allows you to:
Shoot, upload and share photos & videos: Geo-tag your photos or add them to a set. View your photos by set and tag.
Stay up to date: See recent photo activities from your friends and family. Search and view photos by contact. Make comments or mark them as favorites.
Explore the world: Search photos & videos from the Flickr community all over the world – by subject, people, or places.

MPlayerX Is a Powerful video player

Mac OS X only: If you're fed up of QuickTime X's which having nominal features or VLC's gawky, not-so-charming interface, check out for the free app MPlayerX which brings a pretty good player to OS X with support for various video formats.

MPlayerX is better than VLC and QuickTime X—an natural, good-looking UI with a pack of extra preferences, as well as support for numerous video format. It can play everything you throw at it, You also can control it with multitouch gestures on your trackpad. It can even automatically detect when you're watching a TV show with multiple episodes in the same folder, and continue on to the next episode on the list with just a keystroke.Do not thing that VLC is junk,VLC, and it's still has the most super powerful interface, and it can also play any video format but the one main drawback i seen in it that its interface isn't the most friendly. If you don't use VLC's super advanced features and you want something a bit easier to use, try MPlayerX—it's the video player to beat on the Mac. MPlayerX is a free download for Mac OS X only.
